Advanced Development Projects

With funding from government (ESPRIT in Europe, MITI in Japan) and from industrial partners, we have a number of Advanced Development projects in the following areas:

Web and Security

We are applying our skills in Java, networking and Internet security to a number of distributed systems security issues and web usability problems, and we are exploring new product opportunities made available by these technologies.

Java Core Technology

We contribute to a wider deployment of the Java technology by enabling the use of Java in larger context than information processing (manufacturing, transportation systems, appliances, Internet telecommunications, electronic commerce, etc.), enhancing Java performance to increase its use as a mission critical application development language, and bridging with legacy systems so that new Java applications can take advantage of existing corporate IT infrastructure.

Java Compiler Technology

We develop a series of compilers and tools to enable use of Java in a real time embedded systems.

Validation

We develop validation tools and environment to facilitate the assessment of conformance to a number of standards in various areas.
