�The prices reported in the WSJ article [of 10/23/98] are inaccurate. Prices for books are currently coming in anywhere between $4.95 and $25. Different publishers have different ideas about pricing, and we are obviously encouraging them to go for lower prices. The market will quickly show the higher-priced publishers the error of their ways... Note that the retailer (B&N; today) has the opportunity to discount off of list price, and currently fully intends to do so, just as they do for paper books.�
