Notes:
Www.stereographics.com/ CrystalEyes is a workstation-level, wireless set of liquid crystal shutter eyewear for stereoscopic image viewing. The product allows professionals dealing with large multi-dimensional data sets to visualize images more naturally and make a faster and more accurate analysis. - from Stereographics Q&A;
CrystalEyes stereo viewing enhances visualization by displaying images with true depth perception. CrystalEyes works with your display to enable you to see left- and right-eye views "simultaneously". This emulates the way you see in the real world with both eyes.
Stereo viewing is accomplished by showing the left image on your display while the right lens of CrystalEyes is closed, then showing the right image on the display while the left lens is closed. Because this happens a minimum of 120 times per second, you perceive left and right views simultaneously. The result is amazingly real depth perception.
As a result, CrystalEyes users can manipulate data much more accurately than with standard displays. With CrystalEyes, designs can be tested on the screen, shortening design cycles, reducing design costs, and decreasing expensive physical prototype requirements. Some stereo viewing applications include virtual environmental design, CAD/CAM/CAE, AEC walk-throughs, animation, GIS/mapping, and virtual prototyping.
