Extend the MK-PA system so that it is binary compatible with HP-UX.
  • A series of microkernel based system releases that incorporate all the latest developments made at the RI.
  • Demonstration of HP-UX compatibility using HP-VUE, FrameMaker, Mosaic, etc...
  • Performance comparison results

  • HP-UX binaries (including HP-VUE and X applications such as FrameMaker, Mosaic) can run on MK-PA.
  • Allows direct comparison of an MK based OS (MK-PA) with a commercial system (HP-UX)
  • MK6.3-PA with HP-UX 9.0 compatibility, available 1995
  • MK7.2-PA with HP-UX 10.0 compatibility, availlable July 1996

  • Extend the OSF/1 code to support HP-UX system calls.
  • Replace the HP-UX kernel with the microkernel + HP-UX server.
