SILICOMP ASIA, located in SINGAPORE, is the ASEAN subsidiary of Groupe SILICOMP, which is Headquartered in Grenoble France. Silicomp Asia offers a range of products and services in the communication marketplace and have over thirteen years of experience in consulting, training and real time system and network integration projects. In addition to our project expertise, we provide products targeted to the ATM and factory floor marketplace.

Products and Services

The VideoBOX product line is a family of ATM video codecs and a solution for those customers who have made a commitment to ATM technology and have real time applications such as long distant learning or tele-medicine teaching. The products provide point to point and multicast capability on the requirements of the customer.

The VideoBOX products converts analog information from the source into ATM cells. Information is then transferred across the ATM network to the destination and converted back to analog form to be displayed on a device such a TV or VCR.

APPLI-BUS

APPLI-BUS is a middleware software package that is based on object oriented technology and is targeted for the factory floor. APPLI-BUS, which is Corba 2 compliant, is the sofware component that connects applications with factory floor devices such as numeric controllers and programmable logic controls.

The primary benefit of APPLI-BUS is to enable applications or factory floor devices to be added or deleted without impacting the overall software environment. Since APPLI-BUS is based on standard communication components such as TCP/IP and Orbix, the software development investment will be preserved and can be easily modified to support new devices or applications.
