Several companies already use APPLI-BUS, either experimentally as part of

their technological searches, like the EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de

Lausanne) or the CRIN (Centre de Recherche Informatique de Nancy), or on

manusfacturing level like in Singapore with PSA (Port of Singapore

Authority) and SAS (Schneider Automation Systems) companies.

APPLI-BUS and JANiX have been chosen like development platform and

supervisory software in the management of the new port of Singapore. First,

58 cranes will be installed. The objective is to bring all the crane drivers

in a downfloor remote control center. APPLI-BUS is the device which will

allow the integration and the distribution of applications on an ATM

network. The principal reasons of the choice of APPLI-BUS are the speed in

development and the portability of the applications towards other platforms

without modifying any coding line.

AIT (Advanced Information Technology) is a private European consortium which

amalgamates the greatest of aeronautic and motor industries. This consortium

is dedicated to consider the manufacturing platforms of the 21st century.

AIT has chosen APPLI-BUS as existing example in middleware that is able to

free the applications from computing and manufacturing devices.

Suresnes AEROSPATIALE experimentation site, near Paris, has chosen APPLI-BUS

as the development platform for advanced projects in research concerning the

cutting of modern materials.

Several companies already use APPLI-BUS, either experimentally or as part of

their production system.

Here is a short excerpt of some users:

EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland)

APPLI-BUS is used to drive a machine and tool center where the students can

experiment with various machining technics.

CRIN (Centre de Recherche Informatique de Nancy, France)

APPLI-BUS is used for research and demonstration purposes

PSA (Port of Singapore Authority, Singapore)

APPLI-BUS is used to remotely control, over anATM network, the loading and

unloading of containers.

AIT (Advanced Information Technology)

AIT is a private European industrial Users consortium. Its member are

European automotive and aerospace companies and a few equipment manufacturers.

APPLI-BUS has been selected as the middleware to access manufacturing

devices in the AIT Integration Platform.

AEROSPATIALE (Suresnes, France)

APPLI-BUS is used to drive a chopper blade coating machine.
