APPLI-BUS' Architecture

APPLI-BUS integrates 2 main servers: the Name Server (NS) and the Access Server (AS).

The Name Server
The Name Server manages the localization of APPLI-BUS' objects in a given envrionment. Its role is to store and supply information related to the location of objects.

The Access Server

Thanks to the Access Server, all accesses to objects, regardless of their location or their access method, are transparent to the users application(s) of this server.

The Access Server's open architecture allows the use of its basic services:

  • polling service,
  • event service,

in addition to specific services:

  • new data access protocols (Access Driver modules),
  • new processing servers (Processing Service modules).

The Processing Services modules are devoted to the objects managed by the Access Server:

  • scaling,
  • computation of moving average,
  • data base storage, etc...
